PEACE ON EARTH GOODWILL TO ALL

These words have never been as important as they are right now: "Peace on Earth and Goodwill to All". The world is not the same place that it was this time last year; the events of Sept.11 changed all that. It is easy to simply respond to those events in a manner that calls out for retaliation. That demands retribution and revenge. But if we go that route we lose a very important chance to grow, heal, and change the course of world evolution.

A very great gift was given by all those who chose to cross over at the time of the terrorist attacks on the USA. While the individuals may not have been consciously aware that their sacrifice could change the world, such is the case. It brought us to the Great Crossroad that has so long been prophesied by so many. We stand at that Crossroad with very real choices to make. I am not talking here of the choices we have to make as nations coming together to deal with this worldwide crisis. I am talking about the choices that each of us must make as individuals. We can externalize the the events and allow those with hidden agendas to lead us where where they will. Or we can take responsibility for our lives and where we want things to go both now and for the future.

If we wish to honour the ultimate gift that those brave souls offered, then we must see that they have passed the torch on to us. At this time when so many are willing to energize a course of action that will lead to further death and destruction, we must be willing to stand up and say No! We cannot wait for others to do it for us. It has fallen to each and everyone of us to be the torchbearers at this critical time. The 11th hour has passed and we are indeed at the hour of judgment.

It is imperative that we ... speak out for peace, tolerance and forgiveness. It is crucial that we stand up and be counted as individuals who do not support the old order of things. Who demand that new ways be found to resolve the conflicts that face us now.

Who demand that new ways be found to resolve the conflicts that face us now. Not to do so is to forfeit our future as well as the futures of our children. Just as those brave souls gave their lives to bring us to this Crossroad, we must see that we have a gift to give to the world at this time. It is the gift of our belief that things can be different and that there is a brighter future ahead of us. We must not get trapped in fear and paranoia but instead energize the positive and be willing to speak strongly about the future.

More than this, we must live our lives as a testament to our faith that there is a higher order of things and that it is our actions (or lack of them) that will determine our present and our future. If we do this then we offer a gift of great worth to our friends, families and community. We become strong image-makers for those who are seeking a different way of dealing with things but do not know the way forward. But most of all we are in alignment with Spirit and part of the solution and not part of the problem.

We do not have to respond in the old knee-jerk reactionary ways that we have always used. It is a time of great responsibility for each of us as individuals. We cannot simply follow the lead that is being set for us because that is not what Spirit is asking of us. Spirit is asking that we become people of action  asking that we stand up and be counted as individuals who will not perpetuate the madness that is being foisted on us. Spirit is asking us to realize that we do have a  choice as to how things unfold and where we want to go as individuals and as a people. Most of all Spirit is asking that we become people of action who are willing to give voice to what we believe.

This is a very important moment in the unfolding of human consciousness. It is an exciting time to be alive and to see that we are at the edge of a monumental leap forward unlike anything the world has ever known before. The weight of responsibility is heavy but so are the rewards of taking this responsibility on.

It is all about choice and our willingness to make the choices that put us on the front line. The time for fence straddling is past. In the end all that may matter is that we stood up and were counted. May the gift we pass on to our children and the children of the world be 'Peace on Earth, Goodwill to All'.
